I created a couple of minor declensions for Shonkasika nouns.
Instead of forming its indefinite dual in -bre and its indefinite dual in -bi like most animate nouns, a few animates form them in -ndre and -ni respectively: thoges, thogendres, thogenis ox, two oxen, oxen hiros, hirondres, hironis chicken, two chickens, chickens podis, podindres, podinis child, two children, children Some inanimate nouns, including all ending -ye, form its indefinite dual in -rú, and indefinite plural in -ú, with a stress shift to the last syllable, instead of the normal endings of -ri and -i without stress shift: glaina, glainarú, glaináu eye, two eyes, eyes plesto, plestorú, plestóu ear, two ears, ears faspu, faspurú, faspwó leg, two legs, legs

I made some changes to Shonkasika's definite duals, and the definite plurals of inanimate nouns: For example:
rida (a) potato ridari two potatoes ridarza the two potatoes; both potatoes ridasai the potatoes I worked a bit on Shonkasika neuter nouns, specifically those true consonant stems whose stems in clusters, or whose last syllable contains <â> /ə/.
This may be a work in progress, but for now, stems whose final cluster end in an obstruent + liquid or nasal will get <î> /ɪ/ between the obstruent and the liquid or nasal in the indefinite nominative singular form. Other clusters will get the î appended: *dobr > dobîr *zelg > zelgî In the accusative, the î is appended: dobrîk, zelgîk For neuters with stems that end in -âN, N being a nasal in a syllable coda, in all other forms besides the indefinite nominative singular (the unmarked form), â goes to î: nom. fomân acc. fomînîk I'm thinking I may add another way to pluralize some irregular nouns. I think I few nouns in -îk will form their plurals in -urîk. I haven't decided yet if there will be a particular type of -îk nouns will be more prone to this type of plural ending.
I will add one word to this category for now: raikîk (formally raikuk), "wine". *I'm in the process of updating my noun and adjective declensions. Basically, I'm changing how the plurals and definite form. I'm hiding my noun and adjective pages for the time being while working on updates.
Basically, nouns will take different suffixes for definiteness and number according to their gender. These will the new definite singular, indefinite plural, and definite plural endings respectively: common: -le, -be, -the masculine: -lo, -be, -tho feminine: -la, -be, -tha neuter: -ne, *-ér, -erde celestial: -no, *-ór, -ordo terrestrial: -na, *-ár, -arda *The neuter/celestial/terrestrial indefinite plural suffixes replace final -e/-o/-a and attracts stress to itself. It is not a typo that common/masculine/feminine nouns all have the same plural suffix. The inanimate genders more or less do as well, -(e)r. For illustration, here are some nouns from each gender, in the indefinite singular, definite singular, indefinite plural and definite plural of the nominate case: deer: jedhes, jedheles, jedhebe, jedhethe man: deros, derolos, derobe, derotho woman: lopnas, lopnalas, lopnabe, lopnatha finger: dore, dorene, dorér, dorerde apple: belo, belono, belór, belordo potato: rida, ridana, ridár, ridarda |
